19 Feb Style File – How To Be Yourself!
Thank you so much for your kind words on my recent article revealing my favourite colour for this summer – WHITE! It seems you all really liked the casual and easy to wear look, so here is one more for y’all!
You guys know I am obsessed with vintage clothing. Everything that has a story attached to it is so much more precious to me than any new glittery thing I could buy. So shopping at the vintage stores in LA or London is my favourite holiday pass-time. I guess that and my mom’s repeated telling me to always re-use and recyle were two of the major reasons for me to found the charity foundation Seams For Dreams. Here you can donate all your old clothes. From simple kurtas, jeans and tshirts that can be given straight to people in need, to even your high end fashion that we use for fundraising at our charity events the SFD Garage Sale!
Alright, we all like a good side story, but back to the style file of today! I recently had to go for a script reading at a director’s office and so I dressed up as myself: Feminine and casual. My friend Tim Lowe once gave me a very good advice when I asked him how to survive in this cut-throat world. He said “Have a soft heart and a tough skin”. That statement really spoke to me and so it has become part of my fashion statement too: I love the combination of a cute flowery dress with vintage leather boots. The tough girly look – that’s me!
