Hello my secrets lovers
I spent this past weekend in Goa for my friend’s beach wedding and of course spent lots of time in the sun! Exclusively for you I have penned down a few of my secret beauty routines right here on www.EvelynsSecrets.com!
I believe when you’re going to be spending lots of time in the sun, it’s important to make sure that you stay hydrated inside out with all the right products, so boys and girls listen up, here are the basics for a day by the sea!
First off, sea salt is really great for your skin so make sure you get plenty of time to splash around in the water. Many people don’t know this, but sea salt is laden with essential minerals that help healthy cell production and detoxification. The best part is – it’s all provided to us by Mother Earth! While the salt from the ocean is great for your skin, it can be really rough on your hair. Make sure that you protect those locks by putting some coconut oil in it before you get in the water because sea salt also has a tendency to dry out your hair terribly!
Just as a side note, don’t make the mistake of oiling your skin before you get into the sun, because it ends up having a frying effect on your skin. Take it from me – you don’t want to look like a chicken nugget when you have a party to attend later that night.
So you always want to keep in mind to wear a 50+ sunscreen when playing in the sun. Many think that sunscreen will stop the beautiful tan, but that’s not true. If you’re in the sun you’re going to get a little tan. In fact, if you have fair skin like me you must apply extra sunscreen to prevent any burning. And if you have a lovely darker skin tone or got your tan on, you could try a after sun product that has haldi in it because it will give you a beautiful golden hue.
There are lots of organic brands that do amazing sunscreens and after sun treatments! Tell me in the comments which one is your personal favourite and if you like to tan or prefer to stay in the shade? Once you’re out of the water, make sure to wash off the salty sea water immediately and apply ample amounts of any kind of Aloe Vera gel, it’s my absolute favourite to cool down my skin. This will make sure your skin heals quickly from any slight sun damage you have and restore the moisture, now it’s time to stay in the shade.
I know you all have heard this before, but you must make sure
you drink lots and lots of water while you’re out in the sun. Being a beach bum is awesome, as long as you are hydrated. This is probably the oldest but the most important beachside tip of them all!
